The Globe Coffee Lounge

“Frankie Manning, a master of swing-era dance who went from the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem to Broadway and Hollywood, and then after a long break enjoyed a globe-trotting second career as an inspirational teacher and choreographer of the Lindy hop, died on Monday in Manhattan. He was 94.”

Frankie came to the Globe twice when in St. Pete.  He was not just charismatic, but funny, gentlemanly, kind, generous with his time and attention, and a sharp-dressed man. He was a delight.

We are thrilled that we got to meet this man who was so involved with, and so loved, lindy dancing, big band and swing music, and people.
